Black History Month Visitor

We welcomed Hashi Mohamed to our school this week to inspire us with our learning about Black History Month.  We are learning about recent history makers.

Hashi works as a barrister.  He does a very important job; ensuring new buildings are safe for people to use and promote people’s good health.  Hashi had a very interesting but challening childhood.  He arrived in England at 9 years old without his family.  He didn’t speak any English and faced many challenges at school.  However, he overcame barriers and made the most of the learning opportunities available.  We were all very inspired by Hashi.

Our Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to ask Hashi some further questions about his childhood and work.   I wonder if he’s inspired some of our pupils into a career in law?
