Plastic Waste

As you may already know,  a key theme across our school this year is to reduce are amount of plastic waste.  Cabot children have taken part in several activities to support this, including a beach clean and zero plastic lunchtime.  This week, children from across the school used their artistic skills to produce two fantastic collages.  Pupils used everyday plastic items to create a penguin and a whale.  These are two sea creatures who’s habitats are endangered by plastic in our oceans.   You have to look closely to see the plastic objects that were used!

Local Schools Football Tournament

Well done to all the Cabot pupils who took part in yesterday’s football tournament at Cabot.  Our school played matches against St Werburgh’s, Glenfrome and Dolphin primary schools.  All children, from each school played to a high standard.  It was great to see such brilliant teamwork on show and the sporting handshakes at the end.  We need to say a very big than you to Miss Heeley who organised this event.

Below are some action shots!

Maths Fair

So many tasty treats for sale at our Maths fair tonight!

Thank you Miss Tupman for arranging this celebration week.   Each class went into business with an investment fund.  They spent their money on all the resources they needed, including ingredients and equipment.   Children then used our pupil kitchen, measuring accurately as they followed recipes; sometimes using ratio to scale up ingredients.  The food they made all went on sale to for all to buy at our fair this afternoon.  Early indication is that every class made a profit!  We’ll find out soon which class made the most money.  We also learnt about trading fairly and providing a good service to customers.

Snow Day

Friday 1st February.

My Copley has been working hard to clear pathways around the school.  However, heavy snow continues to fall and we are unable to keep the pathways clear and maintain safe access to the school site.  The school will be closed today. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 4th February.  Wrap up warm, stay safe and enjoy the snow.
