I know you have been following the latest news updates about Coronavirus and have many concerns about how this situation is developing.
Cabot Primary School will be following the latest advice and guidance issued by the Department for Education and Public Health England.
The current advice is that we should make our best efforts to stay open.
However, our staff will be following the same health advice as everybody else. When staff, or the people they live with, have the identified symptoms of a continuous cough or high temperature, they will need to self isolate for 14 days. This could make staffing the school difficult and we may have to announce partial closures at short notice. We will try to let you know updates via text message as soon as possible.
It is very important that you also follow the advice given by the NHS:
– if your child or anyone they live with has a continuous cough or fever they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms
If a child develops these symptoms in school we will contact you straight away and ask that you come to collect them as soon as possible.
I am also aware that some people are worried about children or family members with pre -existing health concerns. If you have these concerns and would like to self-isolate your family, please inform the school office that this is the reason for your child’s absence. We will not issue penalty notices for families choosing to self isolate at this time.
In school we will continue to tell children to follow good hygiene routines and do our best to provide your child with the best education we can.
This is a fast moving situation and things may change quickly. We will do our best to pass on any new developments to you.
